Phenytoin an anti-epileptic drug is used to control certain type of seizures, and to treat and prevent seizures that may begin during or after surgery to the brain or nervous system.

Take this medication by mouth, usually 2 or 3 times a day, or as directed by your doctor. You may take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

Headache, nausea, vomiting, constipation, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor promptly.
